E- 4: Give & Take
Word: Matthew 6:12 “And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors”
In today's word, it is part of Matthew's notes verse from 9 to 13. It's a word that we all recite at every service. Mark 11:25 says, “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.” And the Luke 6:37b, "Forgive, and you will be forgiven." Please tell me to forgive you in order to be forgiven. Then God will forgive my sins. Words of 'forgive' includes ‘give’. Forgiveness is giving. In ancient times, the meaning of forgiveness is a combination of the meaning of giving back what is taken and sending away. You can't forgive without love. John 13:34a says "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." God loved us first. He has loved you since ancient times. In the Word of 1 John 4:10 says "This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son an atoning sacrifice for our sins." So they chose us among Christ before the Genesis.
As The son of God, we must forgive and love first. It is God's order. We must love our enemies even more. Luke 6:35 says "But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back." To get paid is not to forgive. It's a deal. As God has forgiven us sinners for nothing but love and made us His son, the true Christian must be given first. Then God promises to give you a great deal of superiority.
